Beijing's Baoguo Book Market Attracts Bibliophiles

Beijing's Baoguo Temple Old Book Market and inaugural Book Sunning Festival debuted on Saturday, reviving an ancient literary tradition in the city center. During the late Ming (1368-1644) and early Qing eras, Baoguo Temple was home to the capital's most well-known book market.

Last December, preparations for the Baoguo Temple Old Book Market began, and it has progressively drawn an increasing number of passionate readers. Over the last two weekends, it has attracted over 10,000 visitors. The market, which is scheduled to take place every weekend until October, promises to be a vibrant celebration of literature.
